Single-Tooth Smile Design & High-Aesthetic Restoration

Patient Profile: 24-Year-Old Male

BeforeAfter

The Challenge: The patient presented with a traumatically fractured maxillary left central incisor (#21)—the highly predictable result of employing his anterior dentition as a makeshift beer bottle opener (a party trick we strongly advise against). Despite the localized damage, the patient had exceptionally high aesthetic expectations. While a conservative ceramic veneer is the standard approach for this presentation, the patient was adamant about proceeding with a full-coverage crown. The clinical hurdle was achieving perfect optical symmetry with the adjacent natural central incisor.

Our Solution:

  • Targeted Material Selection: To fulfill the patient’s structural request without compromising on premium aesthetics, we utilized a custom-layered zirconia crown.
  • Seamless Integration: The restoration was meticulously crafted to match the exact contour, color, shape, size, and translucency of the contralateral tooth, ensuring it blended flawlessly with the surrounding dentition.
  • The Result: A perfect, indistinguishable aesthetic outcome. This case stands as a testament that authentic smile designing does not always require ten units of veneers; sometimes, a true smile makeover is achieved through the flawless execution and integration of a single crown.
